Art Direction & Creative Collaboration

Sometimes a business owner will have previous graphic design experience and provide me with their layout and specific directions on how they want their website, logo, printed materials, etc. to look… right down to the pixel.

These business owners contract with me because (typically) they don’t have the time or interest in learning how to build a website to their exact specifications, or how to set up printed items or build out a logo, but they know what they like.

Most business owners have only a glimmer of a vision of what they want. Sometimes I’ll ask if a client would like to provide me with a few websites that look good to them, or if they have seen elements on a template they want for themselves.

But for those who are unsure until they see it, that’s when a creative collaboration takes place. We work together to find the best solution that works for their business and is within their budget. That’s where I will wear my Art Director hat and gently guide my client toward the design solution that works best for them.

(FYI: A client-provided, pre-created, pixel-perfect layout is often a considerably more time-consuming and slightly more expensive endeavor than working together with me in a creative collaboration toward developing a web-friendly, user-friendly, Google-friendly web solution or solving other creative challenges.
